Our name, “VISION IV,” symbolizes our unwavering vision to pioneer the future using diamond, a Group IV element. Founder Chiaki Ozeki, who transitioned from finance to tackling social challenges, and CTO Hiroyuki Hiraiwa, who brings over 40 years of expertise in materials science, joined forces to establish VISION IV. By delivering world-class diamond substrates crafted with the finest Japanese manufacturing techniques, we aim to maximize energy efficiency and shape the future of energy. Our mission is to create a sustainable society through technological innovation.

Chiaki Ozeki
President & CEO
Born in Yokohama, Kanagawa. Studied abroad at United World College of the Atlantic in the UK during high school. Earned a Bachelor of Laws from Kyoto University and an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Worked for 16 years at global investment banks including Salomon Brothers, Goldman Sachs, and UBS. Held senior M&A and finance roles at GE Japan and Nidec, and served as Head of Financial Planning at Nikon. Founded VISION IV Corp. in 2021.
Hiroyuki Hiraiwa
Director & CTO
Completed his Master’s in Engineering at Yokohama National University. Has been engaged in optical materials R&D since 1983, leading innovations in optical glass compositions, quartz glass for semiconductor lithography, calcium fluoride single crystals, laser components, photomasks, and nanoparticles. Expert in CVT technology, single crystal growth, and large-scale process engineering. Holds over 60 domestic and international patents. Highly regarded for bridging R&D and manufacturing using quality engineering principles.
